It’s time to register for Kindergarten!
Will your child be 5 years old on or before August 31st? If so, now is the time to register for Kindergarten! Kindergarten is free and an important part of your child’s success in school and life. Kindergarten begins in late summer or early fall, depending on your school district, but it is important give yourself time to ask questions and get help with paperwork.
To support your child’s transition to Kindergarten, the seven school districts that make up the Road Map region (Auburn, Federal Way, Highline, Kent, Renton, Seattle and Tukwila) have come together to form a common Kindergarten Registration date – this year that day is January 16, 2018. This means, that beginning January 16 you can contact any school or district office in the Road Map region and begin the registration process. Many districts and schools also have registration events throughout the winter and spring.
On this website you will find resources to help you begin the process of registering for Kindergarten. This includes: how to learn which district your child will be attending Kindergarten in, what materials will be helpful in the registration process, important timelines, and resources if you are a community partner working with families.
